UK Bettors Choosing Mobile Platforms
The world has changed dramatically over the last 18 months in all departments, not least in the world of gambling.
Effects of the pandemic have forced players to alter the way they look to gamble online and the development of mobile technology through the years has gone hand in hand with the gambling industry.
As such, it is no surprise to see that more and more players are transferring their play to online services rather than bookmakers, even though the reopening of land based casinos.
The United Kingdom Gambling Commission completes quarterly online gambling surveys to assess the behaviours of participants. The surveys were completed by Yonder Consulting and presented by Nostrabet.
The data collected comes from March, June, September, and December 2020, and the research was conducted on a nationally representative sample of approximately 8,000 adult Brits, all of which were aged 18 years old and over.

In the survey, results showed that the most popular way for players to access online gambling is through their mobile phones and now, just one in five players complete their gambling activities outside of their homes.
Five years ago, 17% of those questioned in the survey had gambled in the previous four weeks; that number increased to 24% in 2020.
The statistics surrounding mobile gambling are only set to increase as time goes on with there being a significant increase in 18-34 year olds using their devices. 75% of those who fell into this age category said they use their mobile phones to gamble.
With mobile phones now being the most popular devices, they are followed in second by laptops. PCs are third, with tablets and smart TVs in fourth and fifth respectively.
Editor and bookmaker analyst at Nostrabet, Garcia Miller, said:
“Betting via mobile devices is gaining more and more popularity over recent years. Most betting sites provide Android and iOS apps that allow customers to access the available betting options and games.
“Those that haven’t introduced any mobile apps yet have responsive mobile websites that work perfectly. Punters really appreciate the fact that they can place bets wherever they are. It is no surprise that the mobile betting percentage is growing.”
